I plan on downloading it once it's stable. I'm still learning Gimp2.8.10.

But fortunately there are always those brave pioneers. (not my case)

I think I'll get even with version 2.8.2 for a long time; satisfied with it.
But it's good to see that updates are coming to improve the gimp.

What I would like to see in Gimp is being able to convert all of Photoshop layer styles into Gimp. I downloaded some pretty awesome Photoshop layer styles they don't work in Gimp. I have Gimp extensions installed so I have layer styles guess I'll have to play around with them until they look like the ones I downloaded.

Hmmm!, Installed 2.8.14 on Win7x64 and the floating Text tool dialog is missing the icons. I tried uninstalling, removing my .gimp-2.8 folder, and re-installing but still no good. Re-installing 2.8.10.

It will not be more stable, than this. The official Version is compiled once and is untouched until the next Version.
The 2.8.14 is a bugfixed version with no functions added. So it looks and feels like 2.8.10.

The selection tools, paint tool are lagging, icons missing not just in the textbox - all over the layers, etc. panels.
But all is functional and working. :clap

....and yes! Layer D&D over image tabs is working :yes

I'm glad that dragon drop between image tabs is now working. I may start using single window mode more (it is amazing how accustomed one becomes to having a feature).

D&d between image tabs has been working in 2.8.10 (well, at least in Windows version, it has).
Did you mean layers d&d over image tab is working in 2.8.12?
Mitch said this feature won't be available till 2.10 but it was almost 2 years ago.

It does work now,

I have just been updated. Lots of updates in PCLOS recently, always a concern with a rolling release but so far so good.

For those unsure of the drag-n-drop layers, no need to go out of single window mode or detach the layers dialog anymore, works like this (1 min 30 secs)

I am sure this worked in a pre-release Gimp 2.7 I once compiled, so it has taken some time to fix.

Molly, GIMP 2.8.14 compiled clean on my Fedora 20 install.

It also compiled across all current Fedora versions so it should appear in the update repos soon.

There were several changes made to the script-fu plug-in, so I suppose I'll need to create a new patch for the Script-fu scrolling interface. Version 1.0 of the scrolling interface works but it's missing the new code included GIMP 2.8.14.

This was something i was going to ask about Tux. If your script-fu.exe replacement plug-in was still viable with this version of GIMP-2.8.14 for windows 64 bit. I will have to test it and see i guess. :)

EDIT: Works fine.

Gimp 2.10.12 will probably be the most shortlived Edition ever. I will keep the source code in a valuable wooden box with a golden lock, and I am sure in 10 years I can sell it to a barmy collector on EBay for a high price. :pshoot

And I am pretty sure, this Oneday Edition has now beaten every release ever released by Microsoft or Apple ever. :clap

It's starting to look like there's a problem with the Windows 64 bit build:

I'm downloading the 64-bit version now; will wait a week to see if there aren't even more surprises before installing it. :)

Rolling back to 2.8.10, sorry.

.10 is stable enough, no bugs that they fixed for .12-14 have ever affected my workflow in gimp.

Working now layer d&d feature alone (which accidentally was present in 2.8.0) just isn't worth sacrificing
other things that went awry in new release. Besides, this wasn't much of problem in the first place.
The workaround is to drag-n-drop a layer over toolbox area to create a new image, then d&d its tab over
the target image tab (single-window mode).

There were several changes made to GIMP's Script-Fu plug-in in the 2.8.14 release. If you use the old script-fu.exe for GIMP 2.8.10, you will be not have the new Script-Fu updates included in V2.8.14.

I'm not sure where the Windows builds can be found but there are reports of missing icons and tools in Window's builds of GIMP 2.8.14. Everything seems fine in Linux, as least with my testing so far.
