This is supposed to be available in the GIT Master. Has anyone compiled the latest GIT version and/or tested this?
Or is it available in GIMP-2.8.15?
I don't see anything here.
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gimp/

Or is that part of the unified transform tool?

AFAIK this tool was for 2.10... What makes you think it is available in a 2.8 build?

I thought anything available in the GIT master was available to compile.

Turn the IWarp plug-in into an on-canvas tool work in progress Will be part of 2.10 (available in Git master)

Yes (this is the basic principle of Open Source), but not independently...

The tool is called Warp Transform. If it's not in your toolbox, go to 'Edit > Preferences > Toolbox' and enable it.

Hiya prokoudine.
I don't see it there in GIMP-2.8.14. Toolbox list. :puzzled :)

New features are never* backported from the development branch to the stable releases. The stable version is currently 2.8 and the only changes that will appear in any 2.8.x releases will be bug fixes.

* on very rare occasions, a minor new feature might be added if that is the sanest means of fixing a problem.

@rod:
The only thing, that I can give you, is a modified iwarp plugin (windows - 64bit).
I rearranged the settings area, deleted the animation settings (I never used them)
and made the preview bigger. Only cosmetics...
I called it "liquify", but it is not comparable to the photoshop tool.

Have you tried Tools | GEGL Operation | waves?

Wot?
Oh, I see. No, liquify has nothing to do with a wavy effect.
Liquify is a plugin/tool that allows to deform parts of the image, just as iwarp does.
But I think, liquify works as the deformation tool of gimp-2.9.1 on the canvas.
Iwarp is nice, but iwarp uses the original size when using it on a small part of an image.
You can change the size of the plugin window, the preview stays the same size.
My modifications zoom the preview window according to the size of the plugin window.
By rearranging the settings area, I use as much space as possible for the preview area.
So it becomes more useful to me.

Hatti,
is there a version also for the "poor" 32-bits users?

Yes, please, can you make a 32bits version of it ?

Liquify is an awesome tool on PS, there's a plugin for Paint.NET from the pyrochild plugin pack :
http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7291
that emulate very nicely how good PS Liquify is. It's the major reason i still have Paint.NET on my system :D

Thanks for that info Saulgoode.

Thanks Onkel. :) I believe i had this before on my old machine. Forgot all about it.

Off topic-
You wouldn't happen to have a newer (large preview) plug-in for Colors>Filter Pack would you? :)
