I have been using his versions for a long time as they work out of the box with many plug-ins's.

I installed this version but I am having an issue that all the icons for example brushes show file icon with red X.
I also noticed when starting I am not getting the splash screen with "load xxx".
Version 2.10.2 works fine, so I don't think it is on my end.

Don't use Partha. I've been running Gimp 2.10.5 for a week now. Perhaps wait for an update to fix your Windows issue?

I am in no rush, back to 2.10.2, where did you get 2.10.5, windows build?

I use Linux, not Windows.

Yes, I got a reply from Partha to re-DL a fixed version and it is working.

Only thing I noticed on opening GMIC is I get an error when trying to update, other than that as quick look it seems fixed.

I get the same error updating.

I found a workaround to updating it.
notice the URL in the error, so type it in a new browser tab/window, and save it.
Then move it to C:\users\"username"\appdata\Roaming\gmic
new filters should be seen now.

PS: I am not sure if this is how the program does it but it seems to work.

What type of file do you save it as ?
html ?
I see I have some update files there but they are gmic extension files.

the file name is "update234.gmic" and I just saved it in FF and then moved to the folder I mentioned.

PS: Talked to Partha and he said he needs to recompile it with diff libraries, don't know the timeline on this.

I seem to be having a problem with the Mac version in that when I try to drag & drop a layer McGimp 2.10.4 crashes.

Not only can I not Draw & Drop layers with out it crashing, I can't drag a layer into a Layer Group as that also makes it crash.

I'm running MacOS X High Sierra 10.13.6

Hi, I am using High Sierra 10.13.6 and none of it is working for me. I cannot even get a drop shadow to work.
I have tried both versions...I have to say at least Parthas version gives me GMIC but the other doesnt do that either.
I think I will sit back and soldier on with 2.8 for a bit longer until the new 2.10 settles a bit more.
