Gimp 2.10.6 may be released, but the download link on gimp.org still links 2.10.4 as the recent download.

Assuming you're running Windows, the second from the bottom is the one you want.

Apparently Gimp 2.10.5 that I have, must be a pre-release version of Gimp 2.10.6 because it has the vertical text option....

I don't have 2.10.5... I'm still running 2.10.4

Just installed it; seems stable enough, but I had to re-add a DLL (Focusblur) since the installer removed it from the GIMP's directory where I installed the plugin. No biggy; plugin worked after I did so. :)

Which is why the recommend place for you own plugins in the user profile :)

True, but if I put it there, the plugin did crash for me in older versions of 2.10x, ofnuts. Haven't tried to see if that got fixed. :)

OK; just toying with GEGL's little planet preset. Cool stuff. Now if I had Wallace's camera, this would look much better. :)

OK; decided to not use Mercator, but just make the edge seamless. :)

I don't use flatpaks anymore, I switched to AppImages instead. Mostly because of the huge amount of space needed for flatpak dependencies. Flatpak should update on it's own, at least that is what mine did when I used it. If not try something like flatpak update in terminal.
