Just wondering Which version of Ubuntu and which version/format of Gimp 2.10.x ?

I installed it on my Ubuntu linux PC and it installed on the root directory. I don't have root permission when working via the "files" tool so I can't just copy/paste scripts, brushes and etc to the appropriate directories.
Of course Gimp 2.10 installs system files/plugins/scripts to the root folders, so does Gimp 2.8 - 2.4.... That is why there is a Gimp user profile in your home partition
~/.config/GIMP/2.10/ /.config is hidden so unhide it.

I mostly need an old script that may not even work on this version: "AdamsDivideScannedImages.scm"
I still use a dividescannedimages from RobA (2013). Using that slightly modified version (also 2013) from Adams, shown here:
Scanned straight into Gimp and divided/de-skewed.
The most recent version (2016) is here

If using an appimage or snap Gimp 2.10 then the Sane scanner plugin is probably not going to work.
If using the latest of the appimages (based on CentOS) then the deskew plugin will probably not work.
Not the only way, the gmic_gimp plugin
www.gmic.eu will separate the scan.
Not quite as convenient, gives an image with separate layers and no straightening. The Gimp 2.10.8 measure tool can be used for straightening.
