This version seems to run faster to me. It also works correctly with every plugin I tried including the old "LUCE" plugin, which hasn't worked for a while.

Sounds promising. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the information.
I run Linux inside my ChromeBook.
I will run the software as soon as possible.

Does anyone know - does this version work with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS?
I am asking because I want to install this version (dual boot Ubuntu with Windows 10).

It works fine even though it is not created in 'buntu. It is 64 bit only. It creates a separate user profile ~/.config/GIMP-AppImage/ so you can keep your existing Gimp settings.

Snags? Not many.
I go for the with-plugins version since it contains most of the lib files needed to run many compiled plugins. Nufraw plugin does stop SVG files loading. Does it work with Rawtherapee / Darktable ? Not sure, but I do not think so.

edit:
..and if you are willing to tinker.. This CMYK / RGB import / export with the cyan plugin https://i.imgur.com/dG6i03d.jpg
Wireless printer scanner using XSANE and gutenprint https://i.imgur.com/BMwxTll.jpg

....but I still keep a regular Gimp 2.10.14 - just in case ;)

Yes, SVG files open fine if you use Darktable to import RAW files. I don't have Rawtherapee installed, so can't comment on that. The problem seems limited to Nufraw.
