If you have the latest G'MIC, just update the filters, a new main category will appear with plenty map projections, if you don't have the latest G'MIC (3.3.4 or the dev version) > you know what to do, it's over-there > https://gmic.eu :mrgreen:

This has become my preferred method for creating Planets from maps, as opposed to using Gimp's Map Object. It just requires a little Focus Blur and Vignetting.

I understand, there is some pretty neat interaction with those projections, I love them.
