Bonjour,

GIMP_Lang launchers are updated with the new version 1.03
They are in files located in the directory \GIMP_Lang\binaries
They are tested on many versions of Gimp 32bit and 64bit (Onkel Hatti, Partha, Sourceforge)

Edit 20130226 (version 1.03 with 3 folders for plug-ins)
Edit 20130213 (links)

I'm a bit lost..
No more maringouin and no more... Gimp ?
Oh this is only a frontend right? So there's no gimp bundled inside..
I was used to the portable version, I guess you had some hosting issues to kill everything but the launcher.

I posted her Gimp 2.8 and 29 series portables on the Gimp 2.8.4 thread.

Bonjour,

@anarkhya

I just want to change the principle of presenting my work.
In the previous presentation there were dozens of files across multiple sites.
In the future the composition of the site will be:
- 2 files with compilations G'MIC (stable 32/64 bit Windows version and beta 64 bit Windows version).
- 1 launcher "GIMP_Lang" for Gimp/G'MIC (This launcher replaces Maringouin).
- 1 64-bit portable version of Gimp Sourceforge with all my compilations, scripts that I wrote or modified, my themes, etc.. This work is in progress. This version will be updated as developments Gimp and G'MIC.
- Perhaps a portable version of Gimp 32 bits.

Ok, thanks, now I think I see where is the version I want, actually, I want to run a portable version but with a dedicated preferences folder (I mean I don't want to store my prefs in the windows user folder) If I understand correctly your builds make use of the user folder while samj don't, right?

@samj:
If I want to run a 2.6.12 version with your launcher, I have to find a portable 2.6.12 portable build then place the folders and files in the right places for your launcher to recognize it, correct ?

All portable versions have the "dedicated preferences folder" , meaning will not use the windows user folder

A difference was for Gmic, the last samj portable i used stored also Gmic definition files internally that i found very convenient (if not gmic additional filter may get lost when moving gimp portable).

I just get the new portable , i didn't look inside yet so not sure about this last point about gmic, anyway if are portable will not use the Windows user folder ,or more exactly they will have a similar folder but inside, not external

Bonjour,

@anarkhya

I modified the programs to make them compatible with the old Gimp 2.6
The GIMP_Lang.zip archive is updated (version 1.03).
The adjustments are made by the .ini file

I have an old portable version of gimp 2.6.12 at this address :
http://aljacom.com/~gmic/gimp_2_6_12-PY-2.exe
120 958 377 bytes

Thanks for this update and for the 2.6.12 (I didn't know where to find a portable one)
I've moved the files the gimp files in the gimp_lang and launched it successfully, now I'll try to move what I have in my pref_1 folder to the new preferences folder and overwrite everything in there.

Edit: Everything looks okay, I've redirected the paths in gimp/preferences, except my imported dark theme, missing dlls I guess, I'll check it out.
Edit2: I've placed the libaurora.dll needed for my theme but it keeps failing at loading the buttons supplied by the engine, I don't know where to look...

No, it doesn't. My version creates its own .gimp folder within the location of the portable version. It does not interact with Windows other than the location of the TMP folder.

I also noted that your marble theme included in the 2.6.12 you linked doesn't work for me, apparently it also doesn't load the engines..

@partha:
yes, photocomix clarified this point for me, by the way, if you have any portable build of 2.6.12 somewhere, I'd like to try it, because I remember having troubles loading theme as different builds reacted differently to the themes and engines.

Are you lucky or what! :)

A year ago I built 2.6.12 for Rod. I will convert to portable and let you know when it's ready. Must caution you, it's only 32-bit.

Bonjour,

@partha
To clarify your point of view, you may be putting your launcher "open-source" and communicate sources :)

Oh 32-bit is not a problem, may be the contrary in fact, IIRC, gimp 2.8.1 32 worked better than the 64, for me.

I thought you are looking for Gimp 2.6.12.If you want 2.8.1 (?), please use Gimp 2.8.4 from my website.

Oh no it was just an example, 2.8.4 is not for me, not yet at least. I just wanted to upgrade my 2.6.8 to 2.6.12.
