For those using Onkel's version of GIMP with the updated RGGJAN, there is a new version out. They are portable.

I don't think that has the RGGJAN fg select tool. I just tried it and it isn't the same tool. ie it doesn't extract to a new layer. It only creates a selection and a bad one at that. Although this same dl link has a lighter version so i will download and retry.

Win-32 at start up

There are 2 foreground select tools. They are next to each other. the first one is the RGGJAN or matting tool. the second is the original foreground select tool. Onkel has added additional options to the tool, which can be useful in some difficult situations.

The icon is the same except, on mine, the guy has a red coat for matting and a blue coat for tho old one. Also, if you mouse over, one will say matting tool.

Yes this download link had the RGGJAN FG color select matting tool.
I wonder if Onkel would consider looking at the script-fu plugin C src and see if multi column scripts are possible?

If this 2.8.11 RGGJAN version has the foreground selection that is working good, can this be downloaded to a USB and run in Fedora?... OR,would I have to go over to Windows to run it?

Same thing happens with Calender Generator Mike. They both need to be re compiled with Gimp-2.8.10 libraries.

You would have to run it in Windows Molly.

I don't care about the rest of the version, just the foreground removal tool.

What the heck is a multi-column script?

Sorry, Molly, no fedora (or any other linux). It is compiled for Windows.
But the source is included. So download either the 32 or the 64 bit version and extract the src folder.
./configure and compile it for fedora.

Appreciate you sharing the info Bilbo and thanks a heap again Onkel. Last version I had was 2.8.7. Still hoping RGGJan fork finds it's way in future versions of the GIMP.
