Here is a new version of the plug-in "Twist" (version 2.1).

With this version 2.1 the plug-in can be called by a script (Script-Fu - Python Script).

Compilations 32-64bit are made for Linux and Windows.

Filters > Distorts > Twist

Script-Fu is added :

Filters > Distorts > Butterfly...

If you have any problems with the script-fu using the plugin "Twist", delete the file "pluginrc" and start Gimp.

In my ignorance I didn't know how complex could be to create an interface to an .exe plug-in.
I thought it could be possible simply (?) to extrapolate the registration lines and let the plug-in read a simple text file (a kind of "pluginrc_menu" file) where to find the menu path.
Thanks for your script!
(note for the poor windows users: if somebody wants to keep his/her pluginrc file because of some personal set-up in there, he/she could just edit the file and remove the few lines related to the old version of the plug-in before launching gimp with the new version, in order to avoid problems...)

I'm trying to create a script inspired from your tutorial.

Wow; definitely a keep samj. Had to do a lot of fiddling to keep the antennae from getting clipped and finally figured out how. I resized the canvas (not the fill) to a larger size and centered the fill. I then did layer to image size (forgot to add that the layer has alpha channel) before running the script-fu. Of coarse, since you separated the antennae from the wings already, I changed the colors of them to my tastes.

Just discovered that you really don't have to do the layer to image size step after you resize the canvas; the Script-fu handles the rest which is cool. I wanted broader wings for this one.
