The previous links to the 'beautify plugin' are dead, please contact if you are still hosting this plugin (maybe Samj or Rod) :tyspin

Yeah i have been meaning to upload these to MediaFire very soon Graechan. My hosting provider has gotten very kooky these days. :)
Sam may still have links to the 64 bit version also. I will get on this right away.

Thanks for reminding me. :bigthup

EDIT: I uploaded the new files here.
I will fix the original links also to reflect this.
The file needs to be unzipped and there are two folders inside.
They are named -
Place contents in the plugins folder
Place contents in the gimp-2.8 folder

border.zip is a separate file
https://backup.filesanywhere.com/fs/v.a ... 5f707bb49a

Couldn't be simpler than that. :)

you may upload also on "free Gimp packagers" at Sourceforge , just create first a "plugin" subolder to place it.

I may do, but Rod too should be able to access there .

PS
@Graecan would you like a space to present all your scripts ( and of course to download ) ?
Can't be easily arranged , i just have to create a "scripts" section

Thanks PC. I always seem to forget about the Free Gimp Packagers website. I will get everything together and start uploading there soon. :)
I only get 1 gig of room on this current server so i may as well switch it. :bigthup

Bonjour,

The plug-in "Beautify" is in the big archives "Sources_Plugins.7z" and "gimp_x_x_x-64bits-Sourceforge-Portable.zip".
These archives contain the sources and binaries compiled for Gimp Windows (often 64 bits).
These archives evolves over time according to my compilations.

Hi,

I have downloaded the files in Rod's original message and hopefully followed his instructions correctly however when using this filter not all the textures seem to be available eg. when using the Rip Border option there is one tab called "Top" but the others textures in the folders like "art", "border" etc are not available for use. See attached screen dump.

Hopefully someone can tell me where I have gone wrong.

Regards,

Bob

Hi wirra. :)
Have you checked to make sure the three folders with textures are in the USERNAME/.gimp-2.8 folder?
If they are check to be sure they are not duplicated from the unzip.
For example, /.gimp-2.8/rip-border/rip-border/

Are all three like that? Tabs missing.

Please check inside the rip-border folder for all the sub folders.

Did you unzip the compressed zip and place the CONTENTS of each folder where they are supposed to go?
Please explain to me how you installed everything.

Please add a screenshot of your .gimp-2.8 folder contents.

Hi Rod,

Thanks very much for your reply. Having slept on the problem I have solved part of the problem. I have my user files and the majority of my Gimp plugins, scripts etc on my F drive. I have now moved the Beautify plugin files to my C drive user area (see attached). The texture folders now appear for the Rip Border and Texture Border options. The custom folder however does not appear for the Simple Border option (see attached). Would you know any reason for this? Also, is there a reason why the plugins don't work on my F drive when most other plugins do?

Once again thanks for your help.

Bob

I do not believe that the custom folder works for simple-border. It wasn't added as of yet. :)

The reason they (the texture folders) do not work in F drive is because Gimp is looking for the GIMP 2 directory (.gimp-2.8) in the C:/USER folder.
The PATH environment variable is set for C not F. :)
You could try adding the value for the PATH variable like this at the end of the rest of the string.
F:/PATH TO YOUR /user/.gimp-2.8 folder.

That may work but i am not promising anything.

Alternatively you could add the path to Edit>Preferences>Folders>Patterns This will cause all the images to be added as patterns and you would open one as an image and edit it from there. They would not however be available from Beautify interface widgets.

Have you tried installing Beautify into an F drive gimp install (USER/.gimp-2.8/plugins folder)?
Then just run it once close it and place the texture folders in the .gimp-2.8 folder that should now be available/created. For the life of me i can not remember if Gimp will install that USER sub directory in F drive though. So you may be out of luck there.
