Another question.
Is there any way to speed up the process? i don´t know if changing any variable within the main window (sequential or random) or the number of patterns affect to this. Thank you

The batch filling has the white "problem" solved? i used your last version and i´m having that problem. The normal one works perfect.
Thanks for your work

The BatchFilling makes use of the Filling, hence it should have the same results with the same input sources.
Anyhow I'll do some checks today.

Edit: the problem exists and is in detecting/removing the blacks.
I have to do more tests (but later, I'm going out now)

There is no parameter for that.
If you like to get a version with an increased speed, I can provide a special version for you, but at the risk of having areas filled with the colour for residuals, instead of using a random pattern, if you select "random patterns" option.
Well, this occurs the same using other options, but then is it less noticeable being anyhow a flat colour.

Hello Diego. If the batch filling is working i can leave it at night so speed will not be a problem . I testd what you said about naming a range of patterns and that works perfectly.

I couldn't figure what the problem for me was so I was only following the topic so far.
When using palette the outcome was always a new image with a single color, and with patterns it was a single pattern.
The image being used was a b/w coloring page, but it was saved as .xcf before I tried the plug-in.
If I copy/paste it as new image the plug-in works.

Thank you for the plug-in dinasset :bigthup

Regido, nice for you to have everything that you wanted solved. :yes
Nidhogg, your result is very nice. :bigthup
Dinasset, I love your last outcome with gradients in several modes. How did you do it? It's very interesting and the result is superb! :tyspin :bump

In sequence of requests:
1.Regido
this duo of filters should improve the outcomes, but the batch forces "gimp-threshold" on each image source before starting; is it acceptable for you?

2.Nidhogg
the filter accepts in input RGB* files; does this matter?
3.Issabella
it's an additional option I'm preparing, not yet to release (I hope soon)

Hello diego. I´m testing the plugin now but it crashes. Maybe it´s because of the searching method? I´m using a very powerful machine so i must have done something wrong. What settings would you recommend for batch filling with patterns? my originals are black and white images with strong lines. Thanks a lot in advance.

i´m still having this error where the white parts of the patterns are erased.

@Regido
Find a minimum subset of your patterns (3-5) which -when used- make the filter crashing.
Then post them here together with a minimum set of B&W drawings you are using, so that I can do my tests.
PS:I use defaults when trying the BatchFilling

Hello Diego.
Do you have the white problem with the last version of the batch you posted here? I redownloaded it and ran through the same problem. I´m trying what you said i will post my results later

Post subject:  Re: Multi-Fill Script Help

Diego, i just used the batch filler and encountered this. When using default "wood" patterns no problem at all. When using mine patterns are messed up. Exactly the same parameters for both of them. It can be because my patterns contain black and white? now i know the problem is within my patterns. I rechecked and the file size is not the problem since i use compressed jpegs with my patterns and each one is about 200kb. Anyways i see that using my patterns requires much more time for the same black and white image and the results are bad. Any suggestions? thank you

If I do not have a definite set of sources and patterns I can't evaluate.

Using Regido's patterns, modified to omit pure white and pure black and have instead "almost white" and "almost black".
Used my source drawing.
Notes for Regido:
- if your source has to many areas to fill, outcome is incomplete (undetected areas filled with replacing colour)
- do not use patterns with a lot of whites and blacks, as your original are, I used them only after having modified

To "almost" restore your original patterns, you may use gimp contrast.
As here:

Post subject:  Re: Multi-Fill Script Help

If you do not want to change your patterns to have "almost whites" and "almost blacks", and use the original full of blacks and whites, processing is much slower and results are possibly unexpected.

Dinasset,

Thank you for developing the python script "Diego_Render_Filling. It allows the enhancement
of black & white pictures into very beautiful & colorful designs.
