python script ExportSWFE.py crashes in 2.8.14

This Python plugin "ExportSWFE.py" worked OK in 2.8.0 and 2.8.2 using python 2.7.2 but crashes in 2.8.6 upwards when using python 2.7.5
flash-swf-export does the same they crash when you attempt to input a dest. for the file

found this but do not know what it means
