Can someone who is running Gimp on Mac help her? or is it impossible to install python plug-ins on MacGimp?
Thanks

Python plugins aren't a problem. (Personally, I'm on Linux, but MACs tend to work similarly when it comes to that.) But you say you need the plugin cartoonizer.exe as a prerequisite. That's an exe-file, hence Windows-only.

thanks Rebecca, maybe someone can "compile" it (is this a correct term also on Mac?) for a Mac machine? sources are available at the site posted.

Mac computers have never used .exe files as usable file in my 17 year experience with them, although it is possible that it is in the workings somewhere...just not useable by us the users.

I have the cartoonizer filter on my mac! Perhaps it is one that Partha programmed into McGimp, I am not sure. But there are a couple py files that I have added that do work, while most don't.

2-ton, I do as well. In my plugin folder is: Cartoonizer, MLBevel Reflect, Luce and GMIC_Gimp. All of which show up as exe and are functional in Gimp. It is very confusing because as akky states exe files don't play nice on Macs.

hah, I could not get Luce to work on my machine. Go figure! Too bad I am not smart enough to learn how to compile for Macs, but I cannot figure out how to do any programming or compiling. I need a tutor.

As a general rule they don't but they may have been modified by GIMP some how...or batchmod maybe

I usually find that all of the scripts and plugs function quite well in GIMP, they are multi platform friendly but not as part of the Macintosh operating system

I didn't initiate this thread for myself, I'm running Windows 10 without any problem, it's only because some Mac users are able to run (my) plug-ins in python, while either do not.
So I tought that an exchange of infos among Mac users could be useful
