GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: New User

Can anyone help me with installing the cartoonizer please? Unpacked the zip, got my 32bits folder - where do I put that? and do I put the sources folder anywhere?

place cartoonizer.exe in one folder of plug-ins under your (user)/gimp-2.8 (I used the folder name "plug-ins-used") which has to be linked in gimp preference

maybe you did choose white or something very close to white for "Colour of the lead junctions"?
Try with something darker
(I got the same result as you by using White)
