GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level
In the past I have used FX Foundy "Paint with Light (two layers)", and I know it is working in Gimp 2.10 .
I have it in my old computer but I am not possible to find it in my script or plugin folder. The name of the file is probably something else. Is it anyone who know the name of this script or maybe know where I can find this script. I do not want to install FX Found because there are many script not working and I have earlier had problem with scripts which not work in 2.10.
Hope someone know.

It is called lowry-paint-with-light.scm
The whole package can be found on Sourceforge but if you just want that script, attached.

Yep. rich beat me to it.
lowry-paint-with-light.scm, it creates two entries:
"FX-Foundry/Light and Shadow/Paint with Light (one layer)"
"FX-Foundry/Light and Shadow/Paint with Light (two layers)"

when you open the script in a texteditor, the description goes as follows:
; Two layer version;
; Creates a black layer set to dodge mode and
; a white layer set to burn mode.
; Painting on the black layer will add lighter
; regions to the layer below, and painting on
; the white layer will add darker regions to
; the layer below.
;
; One layer version:
; Creates a 50% gray layer set to overlay mode.
; Painting on the layer in white will lighten
; regions below, and painting on the layer in black
; will will darken the regions below.

I noticed when doing this without the script that it only works with the legacy versions of the layer modes and not with the default versions. What has changed?

they finally changed the Overlay bug, which in the old versions of Gimp was identical to Soft Light
