Following on from a previous post (
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17836) , How do I go about making text fit to the inside of a shape? Like warp text in Inkscape (but Inkscape is not working with the latest Mac OS at the mo.) like this rather charming image gleaned from google

I have found filters-distort-Curve bend which works but I have to ''guess'' the path. Can I save a path (oval) as a curve and open that in curve bend to have an accurate path to stretch to??
or is there another method of stretching text to fill a shape?
**I would like to use bump map to maintain the above effect also.
thanks in advance.
