Error - GIMP can't find my folders

Hi Gimpers

just updated to Catalina. Trying to save .xcf and then export .jpg or .png BUT Gimp 2.8.22 can only see my root files ie C: documents, but nothing inside.

Has anyone else encountered this? Any solutions?

OK I have
installed the new version of GIMP
I have spoken with a lovely person at Apple Support and some of my issues are resolved. I can now save my brushes, tetures etc.

HOWEVER the error message above is still stopping me dead.
GIMP cannot see inside the Documents Folder where I store all my working sub-folders and files.

Can anyone tell me what is going on???? How do I fix this????

If you have urgent job, open the .xcf by right-clicking and "Open with Gimp".
You could also try to move the .xcf files from Documents to Pictures and try if that works.

Unfortunately I am getting the same error message in Pictures

Have since completed some research. It seems that it might be something to do with OS Catalina.
I may have to do this work on the PC laptop [yuck - hate that thing]

If anyone has the solution for the interface with Gimp & Mac OS Catalina 15.1 I would appreciate the fix.
This seems to be an issue that has arisen in the last 4 months. There may be a solution somewhere....

I tried going to gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/issues/3710
and tried to report the issue but I'm not a developer or programmer so I find the site a bit dense.

HAPPY DAYS! Finder now sees all my Gimp files. Gimp sees my documents files.
NO IDEA what changed but 2 days later all is OK.
