Hi all,
As you will see in my attached .xcf file, I have 2 layers. The bottom layer has a landscape photo, while the top layer has an indoors photo with windows. I selected the windows and proceeded to delete them, thinking that the layer below would show through. But it won't! What gives?!!
What am I missing?
Thanks guys
DPC

I simply added alpha channel to the top layer and then cut to remove the windows area.

I don't recall needing to manually add an Alpha channel prior to just making a see-through hole. I was under the impression that I used to just overlap the layers, and make a hole on the top one, and that was it.
Did something change over the past year or so?
Maybe I'm just loosing it.

Nothing's changed. You probably either had your gimp to automatically add an alpha channel or used pictures with alpha channels before
