Paintbrush tool not working ----> NOW SOLVED

GIMP Version: 2.10.20
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: Windows 10 Pro
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

Paint brush tool stopped working while this image is open.

I tried working in various layers of this image, and it logs the paintbrush as being used if I go to undo history, but i can't see anything (any paint). I've played with opacity, and made sure the layer I wanted was selected.

When I open a different image, it works and is visible.

Mode: RGB is selected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. After a lot of work put in, I'm so close to being done with editing this image.

Finally figured out the issue after hours of frustration. Leaving this up in case it helps anyone.

I had something selected and didn't know it.

Select > None

Problem solved.

Yep. I tried to erase something once, not too long ago, and about lost my mind. Only to discover, I had some little selection area going that I didn't see. Funny thing was, GIMP was telling me what the problem was at the bottom of the screen, I just didn't pay attention to it.

Maybe once we realise it's there for our benefit we do but I have been tripped up plenty of times ignoring the prompts Gimp is giving me
