My phone's camera is capable of adding a " beautify " filter on selfies. It removes black marks on the skin ( face ), enhanced skin colour, light touchup on the face and not sure what others. The result is a nearly spotless and beautified photo which still looks like the real me/you. Is there any plugin which can do that inside GIMP ? Thanks.

Automatically, no. In one application, no. 100% spotless, no. GMIC and Resynthesizer are the only two I know of that works in that fashion, but not by the press of a button.

Got it
Is there any trusted application which can do this ? I am afraid to look for apps. Stories we hear about the backdoors and malware in it.

There are Mac OS apps that claim to do this, but not with GIMP. I got tired of spending money on apps that didn't do as they claimed. For Linux, I'm going to say "not at the moment". There are plugins that remove spots, scripts that automate sequences, and so on. I'm interested to see if anyone else might have found something that works in the capacity you're looking for, within GIMP.

Same comment as Mahvin, Maybe g'mic but not a single click.
Do a search for skin,
and for some sort of tweaking the illustration filter works.
example
https://filedn.com/lkb9dw6mEfXSsOu9uKLaM14/gmic.png you need to zoom in to see differences.
One thing with g'mic you can save filters & settings as 'faves' saves having to look for them next time round.

Thanks @mahvin @rich2005
I think I would stick to the time consuming methods for now
