Where can I find a user manual for Gimp for Windows?

OMG, In the portable version of Samj, there is no manual.

Level_0 - if the the help documentation/user manual is not packaged with GIMP, you can find it all online at https://www.gimp.org/docs/ where it is selectable by your preferred language.

Get a not installed message (1) You need the local help files installed. Probably not in the portable version because of size x number of languages.
The problem with the portable version is the Gimp Windows help installer will not install unless there is a regular version (2) .. No reg entry / no use.

You can unpack the Windows help installer. It is a Inno-Setup package and unpackers are available. (see: https://constexpr.org/innoextract ). Done it for for the french version, on DropBox here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k47lw4soa00mh ... d.zip?dl=0 about 45 MB zip file. (no need to sign in - just download it)

Unzip that and copy the whole folder help to ..\Gimp-2.10.21_Portable-32-64-Win\share\gimp\2.0 (3) The contents look like (4)

Check in Gimp Edit -> Preferences -> Help System that local and Gimp are used (5)
Check with the F1 key. (6)
