GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Basic Level
Not sure what I did to make this happen, but now, every time I add a new text field and type more text than fits on one line, the text wraps up instead of down. The wrapped text goes on the next line up.
Is there a way to reset that default?
Example:
What I expect:
Riverbed Ranch homesteading
Community
What GIMP does:
Community
Riverbed Ranch homesteading

You probably have the kerning between lines set to a very high negative number. Try returning it to zero and see if that fixes your problem.

That's likely the problem! Good call.
My challenge is that since GIMP updated, the options shown in your image don't show for me.

It looks like you need to add the "Tool Options" tab. Click the eye icon in step one, choose "add tab" then "tool options."
