automatically crop?

Sun Feb 13, 2022 2:19 pm

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level

Is there a setting to automatically crop the image to the size of the largest layer when the crop command is run? Now, I have to use the crop tool, then use the pulldown Image> crop to content or Fit Canvas to Layers

Seems like it was easier back in the day, but who knows. I am losing brain cells at a rapid pace these days.

Is it this that you remember ?
With Delete Cropped Pixels OFF (which is now the default ) the original layer boundary remains.
The correct cropped size still shows top of the window and those pixels are gone when you export the image.
Go back to the old setting and toggle Delete Cropped Pixels ON.

That was it. I had the option "current layer only" checked, but the file was only one layer.

Thank you
