GIMP Version: 2.10.30
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: Windows 11
GIMP Experience: Basic Level
I was practicing coloring comic art this weekend, and everything was working normally. Tonight, editing gradients has stopped working. No matter what the gradient, the arrows can't be dragged, and I get a message under "Modify Active Gradient" that the active gradient is non-writable. For ALL gradients. Yesterday, I was moving sliders all over the place on every gradient I selected without even thinking about it and they all changed. What could have changed in my GIMP set up to cause this? The only change I made was installing G'MIC. So I uninstalled that, but no change. I cannot edit gradients anymore.
Any ideas?

I guess I was wrong. The only editable gradient 'out of the box' is "Custom". I uninstalled and re-installed GIMP and it was all the same. So...my next question is this...The message says "Uncheck this option to edit a copy of it." Fair enough, so I uncheck the box and nothing happens. How do I edit a copy? Where is the copy?

Got it. Took some looking but I figured it out.
