Open Image window, Places column question

Hi. I'm hoping someone can tell me how to remove an image file in the Places column of the Open Images dialog. I have no issue adding and removing folders, simply click on Remove from the dialog box. But I have a single image file I want to remove, however the Remove dialog options are greyed out.

Any help appreciated. Thx
