Another APNG Error

GIMP Version: 2.6.11
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level

APNG

List any ERROR messages you received:

I have no trouble savinga png file but I always get these errors. I have both files in the right place don't I? I did take out the old file-png.exe file too.

weird as may sound the error is caused by the theme (more exactly by a theme that miss its engine) try to change theme from "aurora" to something else

maybe you had a preference for that theme in a previous version of gimp where you had also the engine that match the theme

You're right, PC, that does sound weird about those themes, especially the darker ones seem to be buggy anyway. That being said, I'm running the default theme and have been for quite some time after the problems I had with them. Should I just uninstall all of them or is the "engine" still gonna show up somewhere else? I have never had any "previous" versions of gimp installed other than 2.6.11.

you may try to unistall just aurora (or find the lost aurora engine but i am not sure where to search )

or you may found a theme installer (it was a nice one on gimper.net should be a sticky topic) and just change theme.

yes themes may create weird problem ..as in your case the plugin could not find in that theme something required to show up correctly its interface, but doesn't seems a bug of that theme the problem is that the theme engine is MIA

anyway that theme installer should also include a correct version of aurora or if you prefer allow to switch you back to the default (i will not trust much the indication of gimp about the default theme be in use, i may be wrong but i believe that GTK preferences override ,but that may be modified or reverted to the default with the Theme installer

You need to add the libaurora.dll to the \lib\gtk-2.0\2.10.0\engines folder

I dug around for a minute or two and could not locate it. Can you tell me where it is located or where I can download it?

Added in this zip folder attached.

Unzip to \lib\gtk-2.0\2.10.0\engines

Thanks Rod. I don't have Gimp open right now but when I do, I'll save something as a png and see if that fixed it.
