Missing something

GIMP Version: 2.6.11
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

I was trying to use the paths tool (this did not seem to work for me) as I was messing with it I lost the dialog box below all the tools. This make any sense? I cant figure out how to get it back. Now anytime I select a tool nothing (adjustments and so on) comes up down there. Is there a way to restore what I have messed up? If so please share your knowledge

Go to Windows>Dockable Dialogs and select either tool options from the list, or select the open recently closed dialogs option.

I also suggest you use the lock tab to dock option
