Re: Replicate-in Rings thread, lylejk posted an image of a dandelion he created, "using a rotate n-copy brush". I googled it but found nothing helpful. I have created a couple of brushes but I'm not at all confident yet, can anyone please at least give me a heads up as to how to create this brush, I would like to use it in a project I'm working on - thank you.

RobA made a script for this.

Amazing that it still works in 2.8.18.

Anyone wondering what the script is, can check RobA's Cartography Guild post here:

That was written in 2007, people! LOL! How is that for perseverance?!

I think I awarded RobA a Golden Wilbur (aka "our version of the Oscar") for this. It made for some really OUTSTANDING GIF effects.

I've been reading thread re; Script/Plugin That Emulates Mura Meister Copies by Tin, as I'm not creating an animation, would this be a more suitable script for creating a brush or am I howling up the wrong tree (mad dog) or should I pursue my line of investigation into using a "rotate n-copy brush"? Do you know if the the
script-fu-copy-rotate.scm or the script-fu-copy-rotate-nlayer.scm would be best for creating a brush?

It depends. They could be both for animated brushes and to employ movement from one cell to the next in an animation. They work both ways, but the object is rotated itself in each cell. Are you after just rotating the object in a circular pattern like the Mura script or are you making Mandalas? Something similar?

I would like to use the 'dandelion seed head' effect on 'burst paper' edges to give a subtle ripped effect, I can think of other ways but I feel this idea would work best, really it was the time saving factor that attracted me to the idea. (as I say I may not be putting the correct tool to this application).

Can you lead me to what Lyle used, please? I tried searching and came up empty. I'd like to see an example of what you're after.

Ahhhh, I see now. So, Lyle used an existing brush made from rotate and copy script, and then replicated it with the JT script. Now, tell me, what would the effect you're after look like? All said and done, (scribbles will work, too) post a concept of your goal. I'm just curious.

This would be one of about 6/7 'paper flaps' each with burst damage to the sides, the bursting effect is going to be extruded text out of the center.
