GIMP Version: 2.10 Operating System: Windows GIMP Experience: Experienced User In GIMP 2.10, when using the "lasso" tool, why is it when I circle something I don't see the "marching ants" until the tool is de-selected? I can't find a setting for this. In GIMP 2.8, the "marching ants" is seen as soon as the selection is completed. |

I find it confusing in the upgrade also. This would drive newbies nuts. Although it offers more functionality for advanced users, it's hard on starters, potentially giving OSS a bad reputation. I would suggest a re-pondering of this odd behavior. Note that Enter seems more likely to work the further the mouse cursor is away from the (intended) meet point. |
