Sorry for diving in with multiple questions for a first post, but I'm a little lost
I can usually follow a tutorial and google my way through things I don't understand but I've hit a brick wall.
I am trying to follow an old thread from 2013 "Bevelled Metal Text effect" by Esper and create a welded metal type text as in the ''Quench'' image.
Problem 1: Distort - what is the current equivalent of method used? I cannot seem to find a similar result using any of the distort filters.
problem 2: RobA's Chisel script: Is it still available somewhere? If not I found an archived version on GitHub
(registry gimp org files chisel)
Can I , (and if so how? ) create a script from the GitHub listing and introduce it to my gimp?
Or alternatively a similar text effect tutorial - looking for old steel/ rusty metal etc.
