GIMP Version: 2.10
Operating System: Mac OS
GIMP Experience: Basic Level


Following on from a previous post (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17836) , How do I go about making text fit to the inside of a shape? Like warp text in Inkscape (but Inkscape is not working with the latest Mac OS at the mo.) like this rather charming image gleaned from google :hehe

I have found filters-distort-Curve bend which works but I have to ''guess'' the path. Can I save a path (oval) as a curve and open that in curve bend to have an accurate path to stretch to??
or is there another method of stretching text to fill a shape?

**I would like to use bump map to maintain the above effect also.

With limited capability you can use Lens Distortion

I seem to be having trouble with my paths :(

Error = Exception: Envelope path shoud contain exactly two strokes

To draw a path I click once at one end then once at the other and then drag the centre to shape. Is this the correct way?

method:
ellipse > stroke
top path
bottom path
text > text to path
Paths>tools>bend

Currently your envelope is made of two paths. You must unite them into a single path.
The script needs a text path and a single envelope path, made of two strokes.
