[b]GIMP Version:[/b] 2.10.14 [b]Operating System:[/b] Linux [b]GIMP Experience:[/b] Basic Level [b][hr][/b] Excuse me if this is the wrong place. I'm trying to turn an image into an indexed one, so that I can use it as palette to palettize other images, but the "Indexed" option in Image->Mode seems to be disabled. The image is currently "RGB color 8-bit linear integer". What can be the cause of this? I don't know what to search online either, my search terms are too vague. |

Works fine here. I'm using Gimp 2.10.12 AppImage in Linux Mint 19.3, FYI.... |

I'm very confused, then. I'm using the default build provided in 5.4.2-1-MANJARO x86_64, which, AFAIK, uses the default Arch repositories. There's no reason for it to be disabled. |

The image is in 'linear' mode. Change to RGB Image -> Precision -> Perceptual Gamma (sRGB) Then you can go Image -> Mode -> Indexed As far as I can see no difference as reported by colorcube in the colours. i just came across this issue, but this method didnt work for me. though i did manage to replicate the problem by running any image through Topaz Photo AI, so that may be very relevant >>almost as soon as posting this, changing to 8Bit Integer did the trick |
