Hi, I saw a couple of tutorials where you draw a triangle and then use the colour picker to get a low poly effect. While it is great, I would like to ask whether there is any plugin or a script which can do it. There are a few apps and websites which needs uploading photos to get the low poly generated. I don't want my personal photos on untrusted websites. If possible, kindly share any easy method to convert an image into low poly effectively. Thanks.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge but to what does "low poly" refer?

In addition to what Pat625 has offered.

That is what I did at first. And made 2 of them already. It took me 4 + hours just to draw a face. That is why I came looking for a plugin.

Did you try Gimp Mosaic (playing with the parameters)?

No matter what I do, I am not able to use bigger tiles + clarity at the same time. But the one in the sample you shared is perfect. Could you please share the settings ?

When I do, there are too many tiny pieces and when I try to make them bigger, everything goes blurry.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was looking for something that will feel real. Something close to this

Something where the face is clear and definite. Thanks

Please see this, the face of the lion is very crisp and definite. We can do that manually in both Inkscape and GIMP.

Looks to me like manual is the way to go....

Manual is very good. But anything close to manual would have been fine as well. Thought of checking here. Thanks for the tips.
