The link indicated by Graechan is dead.
I looked for it here: https://web.archive.org/web/20171124122 ... ripts.com/
by entering the name or by entering the link: http://gimpscripts.com/2012/09/cobblestone-mosaic/ but no results.
And in the topics regarding this effect, I did not find a valid link.

I would have liked to use this script because there are outcomes that I like a lot in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3574

Don't bother. It uses G'mic and the settings are obsolete and need to be changed before it can work.

I asked Graechan a few years back now if he still had all his scripts and if he could change them for 2.10.
He said unfortunately he kept all of them on the scripts and plugins site which is now dead. Not on his computer. :(
Now it's up to the newer script writers

You can get a similar effect with just four gmic filters superpixels / morphological (deprecated) / smooth-antialias / samj-relief-A

Attached a testing plugin, obviously values are hard encoded in this, it is just a demo. Good for smaller images only. (remember to unzip it) Find it in the Tools section.

You should go through the gmic filters one-at-a-time to get a 'personal' effect.

1) with the dinasset plugin, a first error message:

and starting again with another setting, another:

Image

2) with the rich2005 plugin, no problem, it gives me an overview of what I could get with Gmic by going to a level> 0 ;) so I will have to practice again but by limiting myself in time because there still have a lot of things I would like to do with Gimp .... and I haven't used Gimp for xxxxx years like most of the reviewers here! :)

3) not dare to use the jappaloe script after the racer-x warning.

4) racer-x, your script for a first step? but what is better than Gmic filters (super pixels and others)?

Get to know the Gimp tools and what they do. It is not good to rely on other peoples scripts. Even if the result you get is not wonderful, it is all a bit of fun.

This an example using basic Gimp. https://youtu.be/E9XlL4pUYUU duration 3 minutes 40 seconds.

If you use Dinasset's script. And if you run the shine script separately, you get this result.

L0, as many of those who practise this site, I use Samj's portable package, where many "compatibility" checks are automatically solved, hence in my system many filters which have ONLY Gimp release compatibility issues run fine.
I only applied the modifications required by G'MIC compatibility issues in the file I attached previously.
Because of your comments, I tried now to solve also the Gimp compatibility issues, but I can't verify if everything is OK now, so I can only re-post the updated version and ask you to re-run and re-check.

L0, you may do a second test with this one.

Not returned to GC since 2 p.m. and I only see your answers that I will study.

1) With the first advice from rich2005,(#11) I did this :

Image
I'm going now to watch the video. :)
2) dinasset, I'm using samj version 2.10.15. I'll try again with the 2nd one. :tyspin
3) Jappaloe, I couldn't use the first dinasset plugin as shown in my screenshots.
I have a Shine script "Shine_2_Gimp_2-10-0_update.scm" (6 KB), maybe it's the same?
I'll try with your method. :tyspin
Thanks everyone!
