Hi epolin, welcome to Gimp Chat. When you look under Image > Mode is it RGB or grayscale ? |

I get the same with the mode as RGB or Greyscale - Dynamics have to be turned off - not Basic Dynamics |

Probably you're right, Sallyanne. But I saw it was an imported image. I once had the problem that it was a grayscale image, so that's why I mentioned. |

Doesn't hurt to try looking at the modes ![]() Edit:- I didn't get anything when converted to indexed. Could be also that hes an index picture |

It looks to me like antialiasing. Try turning off antialiasing and using the hardest brush possible. |

sallyanne is correct. It is the Basic Dynamics option which includes a degree of fade. This a linux Gimp 2.8 with the same settings as the OP. Attachment: fade.jpg [ 172.94 KiB | Viewed 5725 times ] Either use Dynamics Off or duplicate Basic Dynamics and edit the copy. |
