GIMP Version: 2.10.14
Operating System: Mac OS
OS Version: MacOS 10.15 Catalina
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

So hi, I'm looking for a way to allow my GIMP to have access to the removable storage on my Macbook. Right now, there seems to be no way for me to reach into my SD card with GIMP no matter what function I'm looking at such as Open, Save, or Export. There seems to be some resemblance to a similar problem with UbuntuOS, though a Mac is different and the solution given there does not help on a Mac. Is there a way to allow GIMP access to the card? Or is it something that will someday come in an update. Much thanks in advance.

can you drag your pictures into Gimp from the desktop of your computer? Normally Gimp will receive drag and drop files - Or it use to.
But then I use Windows not a Mac

3.6. Drag and Drop
Drag and drop a file onto the GIMP Toolbox to open the file. Drag an image into an open GIMP image to add dropped file as a new layer, or set of layers, to the already open image.

Many applications support dragging and dropping an image into GIMP; for example, drag an image from Firefox and drop it onto GIMP's toolbox

How do I enable drag and drop on a Mac?
Turn on "three finger drag" for your Force Touch trackpad
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
Click the Accessibility icon.
Choose Mouse & Trackpad from the options on the left.
Click Trackpad Options.
Place a checkmark next to "Enable dragging."
From the related pop-up menu, choose “three finger drag” so there's a checkmark next to it.
Click OK.

Ah, thank you for the advice, thanks to your help I figured out where removable media was hiding on GIMP. Your solutions were not exactly what I needed, but they helped me so once again thank you very much.
