https://www.thepluginsite.com/ There are lots of links, both to plug-ins for fee, and for free. Just have a look (browse). |

I always edit the pspirc file to keep all my PhotoShop filters in the one easy-to-find location ![]() Where to find your pspirc file 'It's below your plugins folder' ![]() Open the file in a text editor and change the menu path of each filter from Filters/ to PhotoShop/ ![]() Your edited pspirc file looks a little like this ![]() |

Here's the Ulead filter. It's not free but here it is anyway: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10029 Hopefully a coder can translate this to gimp so that it works on 32 but and 64 bit. |

Hi, I may seem silly to ask you this question. How do I link the help menu directly to photoshop plugins by deleting this weird "p"? Thank you...

@Vitforlinux A small number of 8bf plugins are available in Linux via UserFilter. UserFilter 64 bit plugin for Linux: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=18255&p=249991&hilit=UserFilter#p249975 Collection 2376 filters: https://www.gimpscripts.net/2020/10/use ... 64bit.html @Kamolis68+ There is little that can be done. This is a side effect of editing the pspirc file. However, when you replace "Filters" with 7 character text (I use "PSPI8bf") About Photoshop plug-ins will display correctly.

Hello thank you. Another thing it seems that in the Freebies Folder the Solidify C file doesn't work as it generates an error in the Gimp startup phase. Is there a fix? Thanks again |

Unfortunately - it's a case (quite common) that this won't work. From message (Solidify A to F) requires transparency: ![]() GIMP works with selection and transparency differently than Photoshop. |

vitforlinux wrote: Too bad .8bf files don't work on Linux, they would have been another toy to try. There was a pspi plugin for linux but it was 32 bit. I last used it years ago with a PClinuxOS installation. As well as userfilter, which uses converted .8bf PS plugins, another way is using Windows XnView which generally accepts the same old .8bf as pspi. It is a real "cludge", using the shellout.py plugin and WINE to run that XnView ( a 32 bit version) This using kubuntu 22.04 / Gimp 2.10.34 / Tasmanias Gimp launcher to add python support. Then it might go like this https://i.imgur.com/H4IXjAp.mp4 |

However the error is specific to Solidify C so that its entry does not appear in the menu.

Why are you so interested in a plugin that won't work? These files need to be removed: Solidify A-150 32bit.8bf Solidify B-150 32bit.8bf Solidify C-150 32bit.8bf Solidify D-150 32bit.8bf Solidify E-150 32bit.8bf Solidify F-150 32bit.8bf However, the menu entry can be fixed for the "no entrypoint" case. If you open the pspirc file in Notepad++ and search for Solidify C-150 32bit.8bf, you will notice that one line of code is missing (compare, for example, with Solidify A-150 32bit.8bf). ![]() By typing the right line, you can fix it - and that's how the famous Impressionist.8bf is fixed (there is a thread on this forum about it). |

Well if as you say they are not helpful I delete them all and the game is done. Forgive me but I thought they were correctable errors and that they were useful. Thanks for your valuable information. ![]() |

As others mentioned, sometimes you have to use a surrogate program like XNView to run 8bfs since it's more compatible with them than the GIMP. Also, Irfanview is even better and when I was toying with Ubuntu (via Virtualbox), Irfanview worked perfectly fine thanks to WINE. One of the best ways to do this is use shellout (python plugin as I recall). Use shellout quite often since I really like Inkscape bitmap filters (and wish they would port them to GIMP but no one has). Also, of course, use it to execute 8bfs within both XNView and Irfanview. ![]() |

Hi, I state that the plugin (Xenofex) in question works. Is there a way to prevent these error messages on startup? Maybe in the Gimp settings? Thank you
