I just use "Bevel Reflect Logo" for chrome effect using various custom E-Maps.

GIMP Version: 2.10.24 Operating System: Windows GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level List any relevant plug-ins or scripts: Alpha to Logo Hi everyone, I've added the old Alpha to Logo scripts back into GIMP because I'd used them for years. But it made me wonder. If the GIMP team no longer thinks they're high quality enough, is there something newer that does meet the quality standards? I'm especially looking for a replacement for chrome. I love the effect for text, but there are sometimes artifacts along the edges. I've looked through G'MIC, but I could easily have missed something. Thanks! |

Thanks! Your results look great. One issue. The script fu box for BRL is taller than my computer screen, and it won't let me resize. I therefore can't see the bottom of it and can't hit "ok." |

There is a "script-fu-210" plugin compiled by MareroQ that fixes that issue. I run Linux, so I can't help, maybe MareroQ or someone running Windows can post a link? |

Thanks again! I look forward to trying BRL out. I saw some of your posts in other threads, and you've mastered how to get some really amazing effects. Nothing I tried in preferences helped. Knowing there's a plug in is great. I'll try searching for it, but if anyone has a link, that would be wonderful. |

Rita - try these links : viewtopic.php?f=9&t=9650&hilit=bevel+reflect+logo&start=1340 posts 1349 for Bevel Reflect Logo script from MareroQ which goes in your preferred scripts folder and #1353 for link to scrolling interface plug-in viewtopic.php?f=9&t=9650&hilit=bevel+reflect+logo&start=1290 post #1296 for MLBevel Reflect V2.0 which you probably need too. It is an '.exe' file and goes in your plug-ins folder. |

Thank you so much, oldmangrumpy! I found BRL 1.7 and ML Bevel Reflect V2 here: https://www.gimpscripts.net/2020/09/bev ... o-v17.html I will double-check that they match the versions you recommend. And it's good to hear I'm not the only one with a problem with pop-up window sizing. I found MareroQ's script somewhere on this forum, but will also confirm it matches the one you suggest. Now I just need to learn how to get the effects I see everyone else showing off! Thanks again. |
