Post subject: | Deleting GIMP |
GIMP Version: 2.8.18 Operating System: Windows GIMP Experience: Basic Level Due to computer issues I decided to move my GIMP program to a new SSD for better performance. I removed the old version of GIMP and installed a new version 2.10.34 on the SSD. However in trying to get my dockables setup I found that I made things worse. So I decided to remove and started over. I deleted it again and went into my Programs directory and removed the GIMP 2 folder and everything left behind. But when I reinstall GIMP 2.10.18 everything looks the same as it did before I deleted 2.10.34. The question is how do I remove GIMP from my computer and get a fresh out of the box version so I can start from scratch. Thanks in advance for your help. Wayne |

When you uninstall GIMP and remove GIMP 2 in the Program Files, GIMP have a User folder that you have to remove manually. This folder is in your user profile: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10 RC file store your setting and when you open GIMP you have your setting back Go to the directory mention above and delete all your rc files. Don't worry, GIMP will generate these files again with a fresh start. ![]() |
