Hi,

I know I've not been around for a while but been doing a money makeover, this meant spending most of my free time on the phone to various suppliers and companies getting the best deals possible, worth the effort saved a few quid over the year. Hope to start being more active again now.

Onto to my problem....

I have created a solid colour layer and above this layer created a white to black blended layer set to grain merge and opacity set to 50%, above these layers I have created two drop shadow layers.

When I save the image it becomes stripy, On my phone it looks even worse.

Image Image

I guessing the Blended layer is the cause, so if anyone has any suggestion it would be much appreciated.

Hearty

When you created your gradient blends, did you enable the Adaptive Supersampling option?

I did, the only difference between my settings and yours in the Image is the threshold is set to 1.

I often fight this kind of banding using Filters/Noise/Spread... You only have to find the right layer to apply that to.

Thanks for the feeback, still playing but have at least found one issue, skydrive reduces image quality hence the big differences between the two posted. So if I want an image from my computer onto the phone then email it is.

I made this gradient using your image and then recreated the image using this gradient.
It is very similar to what you created, without any layer modes being used for the gradients. Just a full gradient use for everything.

No Bluetooth, no USB, no SD card?

Nice work Wallace, I have tried that myself now, the only reason I created the gradient using layer modes was because I wanted to do the same design for each wp8 theme colour.

Definitely no Bluetooth on the computer, I'm plugging a wp8 into Ubuntu so not checked to see if it shows as a drive yet, But I will.
