I've dumped all the foreign language fonts on my Linux system. I've read where some of these fonts are used by specific applications and removing them might cause problems. So far, I haven't ran into any problems.

You might want to read though this..

@tux, did you delete these straight from your font folder.?
I didn't know if it would be the same method as windows. These are some of the ones I want to delete but they don't show up in my font folder but they do in font viewer but you can't delete from there.

That's funny you mention this link, because I just finished reading the entire post and all the possible answers.
Seems I'll just have to live with it, or only remove some, but not all of those foreign language fonts that I'm never ever going need or utilize.
It's would be a good idea to have some sort of default language font installer. So if I chose English or Chinese, those are the fonts that are installed.

Anyway, thanks Tux.

I removed them from /usr/share/fonts/, which is where they're located in Fedora. I read that some of the unicode character sets are built from these fonts but I haven't ran across any issues yet.

I suppose you could just move them to a backup folder and if you have problems, you could move them back. These are the only fonts I've kept in my system folder.

You will need to access these folders as root. I just run caja as root but you can run whatever file manager you like (and have installed).
