I thought I understood this but apparently I don't. I just want to paste the HTML code for a color but every time I hit return it goes back to the color that is was. I've consulted the gimp manual but haven't found an answer.

After I paste the number in, I have to hit enter and then 'Ok' or else it reverts to the color it was.

No on the #, I'll try the other. I usually just doodle and now when i really need to do serious stuff I start to see the glitches.

Update: After shutting gimp down and doing something else then coming back it works fine, must have been electrons going where they shouldn't be then Coming back home. I've noticed in other cases Gimp has a temporary problem, i should have suspected that.

Well one thing i noticed about Gimp was that if you paste in a hex code you cannot use the hash (#) mark because gimp only recognizes 6 digits in that field. The 6 actual digits of the color code.It will not work for me that way anyways.

Glad you got it working though.

yes i found that too and made sure i didn't have the hash. (nasty word, i always hated hash). i feel better in this case because i was doing it right, gimp was miscreant. I promised my wife i'd get her website remodeled and back online so i have to spend the day directing my formidable mental powers to getting that accomplished. Ok, not so formidable but i have to take what i got ad make it work.

PS: I think it's some vile satanic plot that spam and hash have been so common words in life. Makes me shudder.
