I am trying to recreate this picture for my granddaughter. How can I map out a grid so I know where each one of the individual puzzle pieces go and are approximately the same size. I know it cannot be that hard but I am drawing a blank.

I made this in only a few minutes. By using the original image as a guide and tracing the puzzle lines from top to bottom, then from left to right using the pencil tool.

I've included the XCF file so you can see how I made this. If you would like, you can use the XCF file for your image.
I did however scale the original image to increase it's size before tracing out the puzzle pieces.
Also, each puzzle piece was selected and filled individually to form each piece, including the large center pieces that are removed.
Each piece can then be selected individually and filled with a pattern of your liking.

have you looked at the puzzler animation script, just delete the centre layers and add your center text then on each of the remaining pieces add your alphabet text

Graechan, each time I've tried to run the script I get error. Do you know why or what I do wrong? Thank you so much. I've inserted the screen capture. :tyspin

Issabella a few of us have tested the script and found no errors, if problems persist try re-downloading and installing again, also which gimp version were you using
