I have this text image, (see below) that I made for my latest Gimp Splash image. I've tried many ways to smooth this text image, but have always ended up losing quality or completely destroying the image.
The image isn't very large. I'm thinking that this may has much to do with how the filters affect it and what filters can be successfully applied, without quality loss or other such degeneration.
If any of you guys would like to try and help me out in any way, I'd appreciate that very much.

Wallace - is this the original size? I don't think you can do too much unless you have a larger source image.....

Wallace, can you attach the image or is it too large?

I just right click it and save the image then open it in Gimp. The image isn't very large, it is 322x223

The text image I posted is in it's original size.
Thanks Molly. :bigthup Was Grape ever out?

I guess I should have made it bigger, smooth it out and then scale it down, right?

That will be better, but the result won't be perfect... The problem is that the anti-aliasing pixels don't scale well anyway. For good looks they must have a very specific value, and scaling means there will be interpolation that will usually not generate the right values.

Yes you're correct. Maybe I'll go with a different design then.

Thanks Molly, but what texture are you referring to?
