Hey all,

Say, I'm brand new to GIMP, and there's definitely a lot of videos out there to watch, but I'm wondering, since I have 2.8, how far back in years/versions will videos still be relevant to follow?

Thanks much,

Starkman

95% of the Gimp 2.6 videos are still relevant if you can make up for the slight UI changes.

Okay, good. Now, how many years back, then, can a Youtube be that will apply to ver 2.6?

Update: Never mind. I just found the release year for 2.6.

Thanks again,

Starkman

Techniques are still totally relevant. Though as has been said, Gimp's UI changed somewhat from 2.6 or even 2.4. (I actaully tried a 2.4 tut once and wasn't sure I was even in the same program.) If you got any questions about any part of those videos on youtube though, surely someone here will have the answer for you. And finally, don't forget to look into the tutorial section of this forum. there's hundreds to choose from and all are informative, albeit some are in text format.

Great! That's good to know.

I've gathered a lot of sites for studying GIMP, as soon as I finish up editing my notes on Lightroom.

Thanks again,

Starkman
