GIMP Version: 2.6.8
Operating System: Linux 64-bit
OS Version: Linux Fedora 17 and Windows7
GIMP Experience: Intermediate Level

I have previously installed Mathmap in Fedora 17 and I am missing the extra plug-ins. I have always found them in PC's site but I don't see them there. These files need to go into my expression folder (user > share > gimp > 2.0 > mathmap > expressions ) and they should include the plug-in "from Nadie Zenith, To Nadie Zenith and several more.
Can someone please direct me to these files so I can place them in my expression folder.

Thank you

At a guess, how many are you missing, all or none?

These were not in my standard installation either, so just the 2 fromnadirzenith & fromnadirzenith. zipped, the bb would not accept mm files.

This is what I downloaded but I don't know if I put the Extra-Map into my expressions folder OR open that folder and copy and paste what is inside to that folder.
I want all what is in that folder if I can.

OK, I see what you mean. I have had a look through my archive and I have a whole set of "extras"
I think these are the ones from photocomix as I have them labled for windows only.

Popping them into my expressions directory, plenty error messages from mathmap, but looks like a lot do work.

I would say keep them in their own folder, make sure they are readable, writable & executable for good measure.

best of luck

Thank you Rich.
I had already found the download, but wasn't sure whether to put in the whole folder or just the files inside. I will put the one with Nadir in it first and see what happens.

EDIT:

I tried to copy the extra-map folder into my usr-share-gimp-2.0-mathmap-expressions folder and I get this message. I did right click properties and made sure I allowed permissions.

Thats because you have mathmap installed in the Gimp global plugins directory,

A few ways of resolving this, try either

Do everything as root or

First unpack the archive to your home directory, then open up your file manager as root
( in a terminal su "root password" then run whatever Fedora uses for a file manager"
and copy to the mathmap plugin folder.

A question, why have mathmap in your global plugins rather that your local plugins?

Mathmap is prepackaged by Fedora so it will be installed globally.

Rich is correct that in order to modify the /usr/share/gimp/2.0/mathmap/expressions folder and its contents, you'll need to login as root.

Gnome's default file manger is nautilus so you'll need to open a terminal and run nautilus as root.

su -
nautilus

Copy or move the files into the appropriate folders.

That is correct. Now navigate though the file system to get to the /usr/share/gimp/2.0/mathmap/expressions and copy your expressions in there.

okay, I did all that, I placed all the extra folders inside the expressions folder. I restarted my pc, opened Gimp, checked Mathmap.
None of the extra folders show. Everything else in Mathmap seems to be there. gots to go vent out on the white line.

There should be just one extra folder inside the expressions folder.
I have just an extra folder and all the mm filters inside of it.There shouldn't be any folders inside of the extra folder either.
F:\Gimp-2.8-32bit-Partha\pref_1\mathmap\expressions\extra

Maybe I downloaded the wrong ones. Do you have that folder Rod that you could send or post? I don't know if they are different versions or all the same. I only remember putting one folder in the other times in installed Mathmap,
My mathmap is 64-bit so maybe the 32 wouldn't work in there, I dunno.

I believe its only the plugin binary that is 64 bit because it needs to be compiled. The mm scripts are text.
Here is the zipped folder extra Molly.Just extract it to the expressions folder and try that. :)

Rich, I checked them all and they were all checked for permissions. none of them worked so I took them all out. Thank you

Rod, I used your link and put the folder in the expressions folder in Fedora and they still don't work. I will fool with it some more after supper. Thank you

As root, I copied the extra folder Rod posted into my expressions folder. No other .mm files are set to executable so these should not be either.

They appeared in the same location for me, as they did for Rich. I had to click on mathmap at the bottom and then select the filters tab.
