Hello there,

I have encountered a problem where when I export an image to pdf from within gimp 2.8 it adds a grey border to the layer which is not there in gimp.

I open a .jpeg, remove the background with the magic scissors, copy the image, move to my other file and paste as new layer and then export as pdf. When I paste as new layer there is no border only when I export as pdf and does not happen when exported as .png.

Can anyone help with this? I have tried attaching an image but every time I do it logs me out! And I cant post URLs so if you go to postimg(dot)org/image/uvayi57lp/ it will show what I mean.

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jon.

Here is the image (I think users aren't authorized to post images until they have five posts).

My guess is there are transparent areas surrounding the background. One thing you could try is adding a new bottom layer the same color as your current background and merge the layers.

The visual is helpful but there is no way of analyzing the problem image at postimg.org.
To be able to replicate your issue post the original image by itself or (if your using layer) as .xcf.bz2.

is there a way to set the pic as 'no borders' either in gimp or the receiving program?
