I went through the menu, File> Create> Logo and found many uninstalled or missing fonts that are being called for by these available menu item selections.

Name of Logo/Name of Font
Chrome: Bodoni
Comic Book: Tribeca
Cool Metal: Crillee
Crystal: Engraver
Frosty: Becker
Glossy: Eras
Glowing Hot: Slogan
Imigre-26: Becker
Neon: Blippo
Particle Trabe: Becker
SOTA Chrome: RoostHeavy
Speed Text: Charter
Starscape: Engraver
Textured: CuneiFont

What's up with this? Shouldn't these fonts be included somehow or installed?

As far I investigated that the scripts uses the font that you have already installed in your system. I think it does like when you're using Microsoft Office, if you create any work using a none default font, when you transfer that work to another Pc that don't have the font installed, it will give you any default.

I'm aware of this, but the list I made are the fonts that are being called for within the dialog of each of those Script-Fu logos listed.

Thank you Wallace, thats cool.
I think that the outdated scripts should either have that option to select your own fonts fixed, or remove that option.
I know this is asking too much for all these great coders and as the APP keeps getting upgraded to new versions it is pretty hard to keep track of them all. They deserve a lot of credit for what they do now.

This can still be reported as a bug. Maybe a developer will cleanup the mess.

I noticed that the font "Bodoni" that I included in the attached zip file I provided in the beginning post of this thread is named, "BodoniXT".
In order for the font to be picked up by this script, it's name needs to be changed from "BodoniXT" to "Bodoni".

You can also download this font with the name change from here.

As long as you have the fonts that the scripts are calling for with every logo, then all should run as expected.
If not then it will use the Sans font or whatever font your default font is when Gimp opens.

Here's a preview image I put together for all the logo effects created under File>Create>Logo, using the fonts that these logos call for from within each of their dialogs.

All the logos were run at their default settings except font size.

Do you have all the fonts that each logo script is calling for?
Say for instance, do you have the font that the logo script Glowing Hot is calling for?

I'll look into possibly directing Partha and Onkel Hatti to this thread.
Finding all the fonts took a bit of effort, but I did manage to locate them, as this thread demonstrates.

There are things that could be updated in the scripts such as Multi-Line text e.t.c. but would require updating default scripts every time you update your gimp

How about just eliminating the need for a called for font to be used?
It would seem like a more logical idea to only use fonts that are on your system instead of using obscure fonts that are not even preinstalled.

If one does not have the fonts installed that are being called for and or used by any particular script, how would a preferences rest resolve this issue?

I do not have any of those fonts in the menus you describe. That to me is a good reason to think it's your Gimp Preferences and/or system. You might also consider deleting gimprc. Gimp will regenerate a new gimprc on next restart.

Are you a Gimp.org install or Partha's?

If gimp was on the ball these fonts would be in System folder /fonts,
e.g. C:\gimp_2_8_10-64bits-Portable\share\gimp\2.0\fonts.
but maybe these fonts are not licensed in a way to allow this
