GIMP Version: 2.8.10
Operating System: Mac OS
OS Version: 10.9.5
GIMP Experience: Basic Level

I'm trying to make a texture for a 3D model I have the face and ears but the background skin texture looks bad because it doesn't match very well. Is there someway to fix this ?

What 3D application are you using?*
If this image is a draft bitmap for the 3d model UV layout,
then things might not work out very well with the model's face.

*Regardless of 3d application, the principles are basically the same, I just asked
because I can recommend some useful tutorials for Blender, 3ds Max and Maya.

I use Cheetah3D. Gimp And Poser2012
Well I figured it out a magic simple way. 1. Desaturate, 2. Adjust brightness and contrast, 3. Layer color [white] to transparency.
Just what I was after.:
